Patriots Equal Longest Victory Run From Tom Brady Years with Win Against New York Jets

Rookie Henderson has tallied five touchdowns in the present year

The New England Patriots equaled their top unbeaten stretch since the Brady era as they beat division rivals the New York Jets by 13 points in professional football

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson was the standout with three touchdowns as the Patriots secured an eight-game winning streak for the first time since star signal-caller Tom Brady's last year with the team in 2019

Quarterback Maye accumulated 281 yards and a score, completing 25 out of 34 attempts

The triumph bolsters the New England's lead at the top of the division as they moved to nine victories against two losses, with the Jets at the foot after falling to a 2-8 mark

The Jets had taken the lead at Gillette Stadium with QB Justin Fields scoring a short rushing score to finish the New York's first possession

But the Patriots fought back in the second period as Henderson rushed for two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Drake Maye at the rear of the endzone midway through the third quarter to push the score to 21 to 7

"That was a big time for him delivering, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," Maye said of Henderson. "He desires to be great."

Justin Fields found Metchie toward the end of the third period to close the gap for the visitors but Andy Borregales converted a two kicks in the fourth quarter as the Patriots sealed the win
