Major Russian Strikes Disrupt Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and applying penalties," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles targeted energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the city endured heavy assaults overnight. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The assaults come after nights of bombing campaigns in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
